Cost of Dental Implants

Of all the tooth replacement treatments and procedures available, dental implants are the only one that actually preserve and stimulate bone growth. Dental implants can also prevent bone loss and in turn facial collapse, preserving your natural smile. With these advantages, our patients have found that dental implants have far outweighed the cost and journey it took to get there.

For those who are concerned about the price of dental implants, we offer many payment options and plans to help ease the cost of the procedures.

What Goes Into the Cost

Let’s explore what goes into the cost of dental implants. The first thing to understand is what dental implants are comprised of. There are three pieces – implant body, the implant abutment, and the porcelain crown. Each piece is designed for a very precise fit and customized for comfort, especially the porcelain crown that is also customized to match the shape and color of the rest of your smile. What may also be factored into the price of dental implants is the price of any supplemental procedures, such as a bone graft or soft tissue augmentation. These procedures are meant to revitalize your bone and gum tissue, in order to provide support for your dental implant.

Lastly, if there are any treatments prior to surgery that are needed (such as treatment for tooth decay, periodontal disease and more) may be factored into the price.

Types of Payment

At the practice of Anthony Dailley, DDS, we accept cash, check, and major credit cards for your procedures. Your procedure must be paid for upon completion, unless prior payment arrangements have been made in advance with us.

We also work with CareCredit, a specialty financing service that caters to patient’s health, wellness, and beauty procedures and treatments. Often these treatments aren’t completely covered under their insurance, if at all, but CareCredit offers special financing plans for up to 12 months, or even 48 months payment plans with various interest rates.

Cost of No Treatment

When considering whether or not to move forward with dental implant treatment we do want our patients to consider what may happen if they consciously choose not to seek treatment. Tooth loss can be especially ruinous if left untreated.

After a tooth is lost, the anatomy of a patient’s bite will gradually change. Along with changes in speech and eating, the surrounding teeth can begin to shift out of position. As they loosen and change, the jawbone can weaken further and be depleted, giving you that sunken facial appearance often associated with tooth loss and old age.

Leaving the open wound untreated also increases your risk for infection. If you lost the tooth due to tooth decay or other periodontal disease, it can spread to other teeth and worsen your condition. Studies have also shown that people wearing full or partial dentures tend to have life spans that are about 10 years shorter than those with a full compliment of teeth or those who have implants. The reason for this difference is people wearing full or partial dentures tend to consume much less protein and fresh vegetables and fruit in their diet due to their difficulty in eating these types of food. These dietary deficiencies can have profound long-term effects on one’s health and longevity.
